Chuck Dowd spent 34 years in executive public safety leadership, retiring as an Assistant Chief of the NYPD. He commanded critical operations including the nation's busiest 9-1-1 center, handling over 12 million calls annually and dispatching 4.5 million emergency runs per year.
He led 9-1-1 operations on September 11, 2001, through the 2003 Northeast Blackout, and during Hurricane Sandy. Today he lives in Sea Pines with his wife Madeline, a retired NYPD Detective, ready to bring that same crisis-tested leadership and technology-driven solutions to Ward 5.
